Petit Collage
Our first product was a hand-crafted collage using recycled materials. That product inspired not only our company name but our sustainability ethos. Ten years later we still choose the materials we use carefully, from recycled cardboard to FSC-certified wood and soy-based inks. We avoid plastic. Our products are designed with the health of our children, and the planet, in mind.
Our products are sold around the world, in renowned stores including Anthropologie, Barnes & Noble, Whole Foods and thousands of independent specialty stores.
meet our founder
Petit Collage is the brainchild of Lorena Siminovich, who dreamed up the line in 2006 with her distinctive, handmade collages on wood. What started with simple collages has since blossomed into a vibrant collection loved the world over.
Lorena has been featured by the Martha Stewart Show, The New York Times, the San Francisco Chronicle, Dwell Magazine and popular blogs such as Oh Joy, Decor8, Design*Sponge and Design Mom.
Originally from Buenos Aires, she lives in San Francisco with her husband and daughter in a mid-century art-filled home on a hill and works in a bright, sunny studio with her dream team of six.
our sustainability criteria:
Materials:
At least 80% of our paper products are made from recycled or recyclable substrates. We choose renewable materials such as bamboo for our mobiles, and we prioritize the use of responsibly-sourced materials, such as with our FSC-certified wood for our toys and many of our paper products. Our products are also printed with vegetable based inks and waterbased paints.
Product Life:
We design our products to be long lasting and to grow with your child. Play value is an important part of our product development process. When assembled, our craft kits double as pretend play. Our wooden puzzles double as play-sets, and our 64-piece puzzles come packaged in a tin which is repurposed as a coin bank.
Non Toxic & Safe:
All our products are free of BPA, phthalates, lead, and formaldehyde.
Factories:
We care how and where our products are made therefore we visit our factories and conduct audits and quality control regularly. Our vendors are certified ICTI: Code of Business Practices, as well as ISO9001 Quality Management Systems, and ISO14001 Environmental Management Systems. Our main factory is certified as a "Caring Company" in recognition of its approach to corporate social responsibility.
Globally Certified:
Our products are subject to the most rigorous product safety testing, including all American and European standards: ASTM, CPSIA, EN71, and REACH.
Packaging:
Our products and packaging are designed to optimize space, thereby decreasing the energy required for transport. Packaging is minimized to avoid unnecessary waste and uses recycled content whenever available.
