The Donkey's Tale - Our Story

We opened The Donkey's Tale in Daylesford in late 2018 with a goal to provide quality, sustainable and educational toys, books games and puzzles to both the local and tourist market.  

We believe that our local community is enhanced by having a wonderful range of unique small businesses promoting the retail experience for locals and tourists alike.

We offer an intentional selection of products with each new item we bring into the store considered for it's sustainability, aesthetic and educational value. 

In our first three years we faced the double challenges of cancer and covid. in spite of this The Donkey's Tale has grown and continues to evolve. 

In 2020 we introduced a range of sustainably and ethically produced clothing for our youngest customers.  This area has grown and we now have 7 different brands of clothing, shoes and outdoor wear for babies and children up to age 5.

In 2022 we took the opportunity presented by a wonderful building that became available and opened a second outlet in historic Piper St in Kyneton.
